OFFSTAGE: Nick Jonas Is Bringing the Recording Studio to You

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

If you have a little kid with a big voice, you’ve probably dreamed of the day when he/she would be discovered and your family would be thrust into stardom almost overnight. Or is that just me? Well, Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers joined his super famous band of brothers when he was only 7. So he knows that sometimes talent starts really early. And now he has teamed up with Quaker Chewy Granola Bars to find that young superstar. Here’s how it works: Kids 8-14 can record a song and upload it to the Chewy Superstar website. Or, if it’s coming to a city near you in the next few weeks, you can head inside the Quaker Chewy Mobile Recording Studio (think recording studio on wheels) and record the performance that way. If and when your seriously-talented kid wins, he or she will get $5,000, have Nick Jonas help produce a song, make an online music video and get a contract with Jonas Group Management. “Making music is my passion in life and the best way I know how to express myself,” Jonas said. No purchase is necessary to enter.
