Dwight Yoakam Reunites With Warner Music Group for New Album

Dwight Yoakam is returning to record for the Warner Music Group after a decade of releasing albums on independent labels. His first studio album in seven years will be released in early 2012 on Warner Bros. Records. Yoakam, who recently recorded several tracks with rock musician Beck, plans to co-produce his new project with Joe Chiccarelli, known for his work with My Morning Jacket, the Shins, the Strokes, Lone Justice and Frank Zappa, among others. Yoakam's debut single ("Honky Tonk Man") and album (Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.) were released in 1986 on Reprise Records, a Warner Bros. imprint. In recent years, he released a series of albums on Koch/Audium Entertainment and New West Records. "I'm pleased to be back in partnership with Warner Music Group for the release of my new music," Yoakam said. "I'm excited about the enthusiasm they've expressed in their desire to once again be the conduit for my songs and recordings as well as the ensuing musical journey that it will take us on."
