It’s safe to say the world was stunned last week when Casey Anthony was found not guilty of the murder of her daughter, Caylee Anthony. But while we scoured the news for answers, Rascal Flatts‘ Gary LeVox was busy writing a song as a tribute to the little girl from Florida. LeVox doesn’t sing it, but you can tell it’s so him. With lines like “Too young for a life to be taken, she’s going places/She’s safe in the arms of God’s good graces” and “She was just a baby, barely 2 years old/A story that shouldn’t have to be told.” It’s one of those songs you hate that you love, like Martina McBride‘s “Concrete Angel” or Sherrie Austin‘s “Streets of Heaven.” And it’s one of those songs that makes you cry when you hear it, when you have to explain it to your kids or when you are praying for Caylee at night. But if it keeps Caylee’s memory alive and helps people reach out to protect innocent children, I’ll request it and download it a hundred times. Maybe more.
