Vince Gill, John Oates Performing at Fundraiser for Guitarist Pete Huttlinger

Vince Gill, singer-songwriter John Oates of Hall & Oates and guitarist John Jorgenson will perform July 26 at Nashville's Mercy Lounge during a fundraiser for acoustic guitarist Pete Huttlinger, who is awaiting a heart transplant. Huttlinger, who was born with a congenital heart defect, has received international acclaim for his solo finger-style guitar recordings and performances. In addition to session work, he has also toured as a sideman to artists such as LeAnn Rimes and the late John Denver. Huttlinger's heart has slowly deteriorated throughout his lifetime, and he went into extreme heart failure in March. Too ill to wait for a heart transplant, he was life-flighted to St. Luke's Texas Heart Institute in Houston and underwent surgery in May to have a heart pump installed. When Huttlinger recovers from the surgery, he will return to Nashville and await a heart transplant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Also performing at the Mercy Lounge show are the Long Players, Mark Selby, Joe Robinson, Baillie & the Boys, Sean Della Croce and others.
