If you think the competition has been fierce among the country boys and city guys on CMT's Sweet Home Alabama, things are going to become even more intense in the new episode airing Thursday.

Southern belle Devin Grissom, the subject of their romantic intentions, tells CMT Radio she was impressed with her date with Adam Moyer, who's a bona fide country boy because of his status as horse trainer from Franklin, Tenn.

"Adam is such a sweetheart," she said. "Obviously, I'm watching these episodes with everybody else, so he definitely scored major brownie points when he didn't tell the other guys about our kiss. I was so impressed by that. It's such a gentleman thing to do.

"At the same time, when you're living in a house with guys competing for the same girl, you want to tell the other guys. ... Adam definitely lived up to my expectations on that. He handled it very well."

Grissom says the initial kiss arrived earlier than usual for her.

"That was my first time to ever kiss on the first date," she said. "That's something I talked about in a lot of my interviews. ... But this process is so different because with some of these people, you only have one date, and the relationships move so much faster."

However, she added, "It's not the last person I kiss on the first date. Definitely, in a normal everyday type dating style, I'm not one to kiss on the first date, but this is totally different."

Asked how the dates are planned for Sweet Home Alabama, she said, "Sometimes, I get to kind of pick what we're doing, and sometimes they [the bachelors] get to have some say in it. And then sometimes, neither of us know what on earth we're doing, and we just get surprised. There's kind of a mix of all of those. Especially later on when we're starting to go on second dates and third dates, we have a lot of input in terms of what we want to do."

The previous episode found the contestants getting into an argument over some culinary disagreements at the house they share.

"I thought that was ridiculous," Grissom said. "Who fights over chicken? Really. I mean, I know they're bored in a house with nothing really to do. ... Boys will be boys. But, at the same time, they can take turns on the grill. It wasn't that big of a deal. I'm not big on drama. I don't know. That was just silly. Silly boys. That's all I can say about that."

Their snide comments and maneuvering at the house won't be a deciding factor in terms of choosing her favorite country boy or city guy.

"I don't like to get into the little nitpicky 'who did this/who said that' type of thing," she said. "I have no idea what was going on behind the scenes, so I wasn't going to let hearsay influence my decisions. I was going solely off of how I felt when I was with the individual and how our relationship was going along. Throughout the process, there's certain guys who say something [negative] about the other guys. I say, 'Well, you don't know how he treats me, and you don't know what it's like when we're together. It goes off of our relationships only."

As for what to expect this week, Grissom said, "I think I go on four dates in the next episode. I'm trying to think back in my head. It's all just kind of a blur. But I think it's four dates, so it's going to be a jampacked for sure. And four more guys go home, as well."
