OFFSTAGE: Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley Just Missed His First Kiss

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Now that Lady Antebellum’s “Just a Kiss” is getting close to the top of the charts, the band’s tall drink of water of a frontman, Charles Kelley, took a trip down memory lane to talk about his own first kiss. Or, miss. “I remember I went in to kiss this girl, and she leaned down, and I ended up kissing her forehead. Which sounds really kind of sexy,” he joked in a radio interview, “but it was obvious that I was going in for a kiss, and instead of turning to the side, she turned down.” (Keep in mind, though, that Kelley is about 6 feet 6 inches tall, so anyone he tries to kiss is probably going to need a stepstool or something.) There’s no mention of who that girl was, but I’m sure she’s bummed now. She should’ve kissed him back when she had the chance.
