“It’s like a summertime barbecue kind of thing — July 4 with the fireworks and hot dogs and everything,” he said. “It’s a good ol’ kind of community thing.”
The high school senior’s first single, written by Brett James, Esther Dean and Ronnie Jackson, has already nudged into the Top 20 on Billboard’s country charts and is the first single from his new album that arrives this fall.
Though the video was shot in Los Angeles, the North Carolina native still made a point to find a nice patch of green to create the video’s down-home atmosphere.
“We found a little spot of country in L.A. to do it,” McCreery grinned. “I wouldn’t have done it in the concrete jungle if I would have been surrounded by skyscrapers.”
