OFFSTAGE: Lady A’s Dave Haywood Gets Deep

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Dave Haywood may not have meant to get deep. But he did. In the recent cover story in Billboard , he said, “Not to get too deep, but I feel like with all the crazy stuff going on in this world, people long for something that’s real and genuine.” Yes, yes, yes. I couldn’t agree more. That is exactly what I think this crazy world relies on from Lady Antebellum as an escape from the crazy stuff. Whether you are listening to a Lady A song on the radio, playing an album at home or seeing them in concert, Haywood is right. We long for music that is more about the good stuff. He also talks about how the new music from their upcoming Own the Night album, will “help take somebody through a show in a different journey.” I can’t wait to go on that journey when they bring their unplugged show to Chicago next week.
