George Strait Releases New Album

George Strait released his new album, Here for a Good Time, on Sept. 6 on MCA Nashville. The title track is his current single. Strait co-wrote seven of the 11 tracks with his son, Bubba. They teamed with songwriter Dean Dillon on six of those compositions, including the title track. Strait also recorded a version of Jesse Winchester’s “A Showman’s Life.” Other songwriting credits on the album are Al Anderson and Chris Stapleton; Chuck Cannon and Allen Shamblin; and Gary Nicholson and Delbert McClinton. Strait and co-producer Tony Brown recorded the album at Shrimpboat Sound Studio in Key West, Fla., where Strait recorded his three previous albums. Strait and special guest Martina McBride will tour in early 2012.
