OFFSTAGE: Brad Paisley's Blue Kitchen Makes Me Hate Mine

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

I'm in the midst of renovating a 1924 home. And I literally just finished installing a kitchen. And then I open up the recent People Country magazine and see Brad Paisley's kitchen with all its distressed turquiosey blue cabinets, copper range hood, log-cabin backsplash, pot-filler faucet, bronze knobs and pulls and, get this, tree branches supporting the breakfast bar. I want to tear mine out and start over. I must've read a hundred kitchen magazines and do-it-herself blogs before I got to work gutting my little cottage kitchen. But I never saw anything this artistic. Paisley's wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley had the idea for the blue cabinets, but the tree branches were his idea and came from their backyard in Franklin, Tenn. "This house with the smell of pancakes, bacon, coffee and a fire in the fireplace, it's the best thing in the world," she says of the kitchen.
