OFFSTAGE: The Taylor Swift Braided Bun Breakdown

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

You may be wondering what you're going to wear to the CMA Awards this year. As you should be. But to add to your endless style possibilities, I give you Glamour's how-to guide on making your up-do look like Taylor Swift's. It is that ethereal braided bun she's been wearing lately. And if you have a few hours, it can look gorgeous. (Maybe I'm exaggerating, but sometimes it seems like these hairstyles that look messy and thrown together at the last minute actually took ample time, concentration, mirrors, bobby pins and upper body strength.) So Glamour tackles it with one tiny change: regular braids instead of Swift's fishtail braids. Fishtails are actually easier to create than braids because they only involve two sections as opposed to three, but they aren't for rookies. So, to start, give yourself a side part, then curl your hair, braid a little section behind your ear, twist the crown section and pin it, then braid another small section at the bottom of your hairline -- and you're almost done. Sweating yet? Take all the hair except the braids and put it in a loose bun. Then at the very end of this endeavor, wrap the two braids around and into the bun and secure them with bobby pins. Voila. Do you look like Swift? How long did it take?
