OFFSTAGE: Chris Young Adds Some, Um, Lyrics to His Song

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

All Chris Young can think about is gettin’ you home. And gettin’ that [expletive] out the door. If you missed Young’s show Thursday (Nov. 17) at Rabb’s Steakhouse in Ruston, La., then you missed him throwing a man out of the concert. But fortunately, someone caught it on video. The story behind it is that Young saw some man in the crowd punch a woman in the face, so naturally, he stopped singing long enough to tell him to get out. And the security staff at Rabb’s made sure that he did indeed get out. But because it all happened within the lyrics of Young’s “Gettin’ You Home,” it sounds like the song now goes like this: “All you can think about is getting’ me home/Walkin’ through the front door/Hey/Hey, [expletive] that just punched a lady in the face/Get the [expletive] outta my show/Hey, is she OK?/Sorry for the language/They got him, he’s gone/The only way I know how to fix this is a song about doin’ it/Walkin’ through the front door, seein’ your black dress hit the floor.” Let’s hope all the (expletive) country fans out there learn a lesson from this and behave themselves at the next Young concert.
