Brad Paisley should get the best-dressed award from last night’s (Nov. 29) taping of CMT Artists of the Year in Nashville. Hands down. Especially if we’re giving points to the honorees who wore outfits to match their latest single. Who else could claim that stroke of style genius? His sport coat looks like it was made out of Duck Blind Mossy Oak, just like he sings about wearing to the prom in his “Camouflage” song.
He paired the coat with a necklace Hank Williams Jr. had given him before the show. It was Williams’ eagle symbol (which is also the Ruger firearms logo, so it fits with the hunting theme perfectly) with “Hank” engraved on the front and “Thanks, Brad” on the back.
In an interview with The Associated Press before the show was taped, Paisley talked about how much he liked this kind of show, where the winners are pre-determined. “It’s neat. It’s not like an awards show where you have to wonder if you’re going to win. And if you don’t, they were mean. They psyched you out. And it’s one where they feed everybody and give you alcohol,” he said. “We need more of those shows.”View photos from CMT Artists of the Year.
