Wade Hayes Battling Colon Cancer

Wade Hayes, who had a No. 1 hit with “Old Enough to Know Better” in 1995, underwent surgery for stage IV colon cancer on Thursday (Dec. 8) in Nashville. Hayes, 42, will continue treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the coming weeks. On Monday afternoon (Dec. 12), his Facebook page administrator wrote, “I’ve talked with Wade’s mother and she wants you to know how much she appreciates your prayers and support. His surgery for cancer was long and complex, but went better than the surgeon had anticipated. Though recovery is difficult and painful, he is doing well. Praise God!” Hayes’ other singles include “I’m Still Dancin’ With You,” “What I Meant to Say” and “On a Good Night.”
