OFFSTAGE: Will Keith Urban Sound Different?

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

I wonder if Keith Urban’s voice will sound different after the surgery on his vocal cords to remove a polyp. He was on voice rest for something like three weeks. And now, he is getting ready for his first post-op show. It’s in Austin, Texas, on Feb. 10, at a benefit for the Beyond Batten Disease Foundation . (The BBDF is fighting to find a cure for the often-fatal childhood nervous system disorder. And while I don’t know what Urban’s connection is to the foundation, I think it’s wonderful that he is helping raise money for such a good cause.) So if you want to hear how his voice sounds now that he has this clean bill of vocal health, balcony tickets are still available for $250. For the standing-room-only area close to the stage, it’s $500. And for $10,000, you and nine friends can have dinner and drinks before the show, and get closer to the stage with a reserved cocktail table.
