Carrie Underwood Donates $350,000 to Hometown Schools

Carrie Underwood and her C.A.T.S. Foundation donated a total of $350,000 to four schools in her hometown of Checotah, Okla., at the end of 2011. The donations will help fund new computer labs for each school, along with playground equipment, physical fitness equipment, new band uniforms, furniture, storage, musical instruments and more. Underwood established C.A.T.S. (Checotah Animal, Town and School) Foundation in 2009. “Late last year, each of the schools created a list of their needs, and I am so thrilled that the C.A.T.S. Foundation was able to fund it all. It gives me great joy knowing we are helping my hometown schools to offer an even better education to the students. They deserve it,” Underwood said.
