OFFSTAGE: Keith Urban’s Favorite Songs of 2011

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Keith Urban had at least a dozen favorite songs from last year, and he’s listed them on iTunes. And they can all be yours for just $15.48. Or you can do what I did, and go through his Top 12 list and just download the ones you love the most. I took out the explicit ones, and was left with a 10-song playlist I like to call Uber Urban. It has some standouts from the country world, like Eric Church’s “Springsteen,” Ronnie Dunn’s “Cost of Livin'” and Kenny Chesney’s “Somewhere With You.” Then a bunch of songs that were probably on a bunch of year-end lists: Adele’s “Someone Like You,” Daughtry’s “September” and two from the legendary Paul Simon’s latest album, So Beautiful or So What. If Urban is still making records when he’s 70, like Simon is, I’m sure he will be on all kinds of lists, too.
