Tim McGraw and Kellie Pickler head the list of country artists releasing new albums on Tuesday (Jan. 24). McGraw’s long-awaited Emotional Traffic, his final album for Curb Records, features his current single, “Better Than I Used to Be,” and the No. 1 hit, “Felt Good on My Lips.” Pickler moves toward a stronger traditional country sound on her third album, 100 Proof (19 Recordings/BNA). Several noted singer-songwriters have new releases, too, including Martin Sexton’s Fall Like Rain EP (Kitchen Table), Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn’s Clear Heart Full Eyes (Vagrant), Madi Diaz’s Plastic Moon (Small Horse) and Lauren Gibson’s Le Grande (Barsuk). … Janie Fricke, who scored nine No. 1 country singles in the ’80s, has re-recorded several of her hits in new arrangements for Country Side of Bluegrass (New Music Deals). And while Glen Campbell continues his farewell tour, his Live in Japan, a 1975 concert that was recorded and released only in Japan, has finally been released in the U.S.
