OFFSTAGE: Blake Shelton On Hot, Homeless Girls

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Blake Shelton is hardly ever serious. Which is why the new Redbook magazine cover story on him is a must-read for anyone who loves Shelton and/or laughing out loud. In a section about his life in Los Angeles, where he lives while he is taping The Voice, he tells the magazine he doesn’t even know how to get around in town. “Last year I did The Tonight Show, and Jay Leno asked me where I lived, I swear to God, I had no idea how to get there,” he admitted. But he also acknowledged the one huge perk of living in sunny California. “It’s nice when you drive down the street and every girl you see is hot. I mean every girl — whether she’s crossing the street, sleeping on the street,” he jokes. “Even the homeless girls are smoking hot! It’s like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m gonna lie down next to her on the sidewalk!’”

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
