OFFSTAGE: My Crossroads Wishlist for Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Are you ready for some CMT Crossroads? I know I am. I am, in fact, much more excited for the music of Super Bowl Eve than I am for the actual Super Bowl XLVI. CMT Crossroads: Steven Tyler & Carrie Underwood From the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam airs live Saturday (Feb. 4) at 11 p.m. ET/PT on CMT. And the two singers have so many killer hits between them, the show is bound to be packed tight with songs we all know by heart. (Underwood recently said she’s been an Aerosmith fan since she was a kid. “I’ve been listening to Steven my whole life, literally, and I knew every word to every song and … he’s awesome,” she said.) By now, I’m sure they have their entire setlist figured out. But had they asked me to weigh in, here are a few songs I hope would make the cut:

I’d love to hear Steven Tyler do:
“My Last Name”
“Flat on the Floor”
“Cowboy Casanova”
“Songs Like This”
“We’re Young and Beautiful”

And I’d love to hear Carrie Underwood do:
“Walk This Way”
“Same Old Song and Dance”
“Janie’s Got a Gun”
“Love in an Elevator”
“Sweet Emotion”

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
