OFFSTAGE: Blake Shelton: “Yes, I Cried”

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Last week, when Jay Leno had Blake Shelton on The Tonight Show, he asked him if he and his wife Miranda Lambert ever watched romantic movies together. And he gets Shelton to admit they’d watched one called The Notebook. And even better, he comes out and says, “Yes, I cried.” (It would be hard not to, because that 2004 Ryan Gosling/Rachel McAdams movie is sadder than any sad, sad country song.) But Leno also gets Shelton to open up about some of the things he doesn’t enjoy watching with Lambert. “I can’t stand the things that she watches on television,” he said. “We have one television at the house, so whatever she wants to watch, we watch. Say Yes to the Dress is the worst television show. She watches that crap. It’s hell. And she watches it — and she DVRs it.”
