OFFSTAGE: Kenny Chesney Settles Yoga Classes Down

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Kenny Chesney's big, beautiful, bittersweet duet with Grace Potter -- "You and Tequila" -- has resulted in a Grammy nomination for best country song for songwriters Matraca Berg and Deana Carter. The song was a hit at radio and at retail and now, we've learned, at yoga classes. "I had a friend of mine in Vermont text me that her and her husband went to a yoga class, and at the end of the yoga class they played 'You and Tequila' every night to settle everybody down. Pretty cool," Chesney told The Tennessean, Nashville's daily newspaper. "You never know where your music's getting heard." He goes on to say that the song's writers crafted a song that "is very genreless." Meaning, it's not just a country song or just a pop song or just a folk song. "Songs like that just don't come around every day, they just don't. I'm really excited I'm the guy that gets to sing that song for the rest of my life," he said.
