Lady Antebellum Win Grammy for Country Album of the Year

Own the Night Was Trio's Only Nomination This Year

Lady Antebellum bounded to the stage to accept the Grammy for country album of the year on Sunday night (Feb. 12) in Los Angeles. “We did not expect this!” exclaimed Charles Kelley, after making his way to the stage after stopping to hug Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift.

The band had only one nomination, with Own the Night in the country album category.

Although the trio’s acceptance remarks were brief, Kelley wished his wife a Happy Valentine’s Day, while Hillary Scott extended her gratitude to the fans, her husband, the band’s families and their colleagues at Capitol Records and their management company. Dave Haywood added thanks to producer Paul Worley and engineer Clarke Schleicher.

“Thanks for changing our lives last year,” Kelley concluded. “We love you all so much.”

In 2011, Lady Antebellum won five Grammys.
