OFFSTAGE: Grammy Style: The Lace Is On

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Lace was definitely the big winner on last night’s (Feb. 12) Grammy Awards . It. Was. Everywhere. On the red carpet (thank you, Joy Williams and Alison Krauss ), during performances (thank you, Carrie Underwood and Adele ), and during the presenting of the Grammys themselves (thank you, Miranda Lambert and Fergie ).

It seems fitting, too, that as classy singers are making a comeback, so is the feminine style that suits them the best. I mean, leather shorts and cupcake bras are nice, but not every day. The Grammys deserved style this sophisticated.

Like Taylor Swift’s Zuhair Murad silky champagne lace dress with a high neckline. And Miranda Lambert’s gorgeous golden Pavoni gown . And Carrie Underwood’s one-shoulder, lace-like, black and gold, beaded tulle stunner . They all shined.

And in the guys-keeping-it-classy category, I adored Jason Aldean for pairing pinstripes and a cowboy hat, Glen Campbell for never forgetting his Rhinestone Cowboy roots and the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl for accepting the band’s best rock performance Grammy with a speech about how the best music comes from your heart (and his garage and microphones and a tape machine).
