OFFSTAGE: Martina McBride Splurges on $5 Dish Soap

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

This is how I know Martina McBride’s house is really, really clean. She has cleaning products she loves enough to blog about . So she must be good at it, right? I’d be hard pressed to say what brand of paper towels we use, and I have a not-so-immaculate house to show for it. So if you want to clean up like McBride does, you’ll need four basic things: a Swiffer sweeper vac (she uses it every day because her dark wood floors show everything and says it’s so lightweight, even the kids can use it), a Dyson DC34 handheld vacuum (for small spaces like her fireplace, drawers, stove), Weiman stainless steel cleaner and polish (it gets rid of fingerprints on the fridge, so what’s not to love?) and, lastly, the whole Caldrea line of cleaning supplies . “I know that upwards of $5 for a dishwashing liquid or a hand soap is kinda crazy. And I don’t use it all the time. But occasionally I splurge. Life is about choices, and sometimes I will choose to skip the Starbucks for a couple of days in order to buy a bottle of dishwashing soap that’s gonna make me smile every time I do a sinkful of dishes. Sometimes it’s just worth it,” she admits, adding that she also loves their coriander and cedar leaf hand soap.

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
