First of all, you should know that when Kellie Pickler married Kyle Jacobs, they spent part of their honeymoon in Iraq. That's how much she loves being part of giving something back to our troops overseas. After their New Year's Day wedding, the newlyweds spent a couple of nights on the beach. Then it was off to Iraq. "It was so romantic," Pickler joked. "No, it was just that I had already committed to going over there, and I wasn't going to cancel because that wouldn't have been right. But Kyle loved it. It was such a great experience for him to be a part of." In a recent interview with Parade magazine, she talked about performing for the troops and how proud she is to be part of the USO. "I've loved taking a little piece of home to our troops in Iraq or Afghanistan," she said. And she says she's found plenty of country fans in the military. "Certain bases will have people from particular areas. One camp we went to was pretty much all from Alabama, so they were trying to create that country atmosphere and just trying to make it as close to home as they could," she said.
