You’ve got the Chevy Cavalier. Then there’s the prom tuxedo. But I just knew if Brad Paisley‘s “Camouflage” song went on forever, he’d have a long list of things that he’d like to see in that pattern that were designed by Mother Nature and by God. And, it turns out, he does. I asked Paisley right after he practiced the song for Sunday’s (April 1) performance on the ACM Awards in Las Vegas, and here’s what he told me.
1. “A tour bus, for sure. That would be a good thing with a camo print all over. How cool would that be?”
2. “I’ve always wanted — I’m not kidding — to take a Chevy Corvette and make it camo. Buy one from Bowling Green, then drive it over to Fort Campbell in Kentucky and have them run it through where they paint the trucks. Just strip it down, do the flat camo, and then do black accents and black rims. Wouldn’t that look cool?”
3. “A guitar. I do not have a camouflage guitar. We’ve talked about it, but it almost seemed a little like overkill. If you look at my concerts, though, there’s no such thing as overkill when it comes to camouflage, the color orange or tube tops.”
Paisley’s ideas are great ones. But I have a few of my own for showing my Southern pride. I’d love a camo pashmina, a camo iPhone cover, and maybe someday, I’ll paint my front door with green and gray and black and brown and tan. Just to see the look on my neighbors’ faces.
