OFFSTAGE: Tim McGraw’s Looking for a New Roadie

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

First, you have to convince Tim McGraw why he should bring you on tour. Then you have to wait to hear if he did indeed pick you as his roadie. But if you are that chosen roadie, listen to what is in store for you: You will go out on Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw’s Brothers of the Sun tour in early June as the official Penzoil Roadie . You’ll hit Tampa, Atlanta, Dallas and Kansas City. Technically, you won’t be on McGraw’s band bus, but you’ll be in a van right behind it. And you get to bring a friend. You’ll both get tickets to each show and will both be part of the process at each one. Watching the load-in and load-out, visiting McGraw’s dressing room, roaming around backstage, maybe saying hi to Kenny Chesney, Grace Potter and Jake Owen and even getting some time to sit down for a chat with McGraw. Since this is pretty much the chance of a lifetime, think this through: Why are you the ultimate roadie to follow Tim McGraw? Keep it between 250-500 words, and cross your fingers that your answer is the one McGraw and the Pennzoil people think is the best fit. The contest closes April 30.
