OFFSTAGE: Carrie Underwood Goes Glam for 'Glamour'

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Forget that the new issue of Glamour promises a muffin top workout and five seconds to better sex. It has something even better: Carrie Underwood, like you've never seen or heard her before. She is candid, witty and, obviously, gorgeous. In the interview she jokes about how she could never pull off a song about being rich and famous. "I think it would be very hard to write about my Louboutins. Do you know what I mean? My giant house, it's not relatable," she says, pointing out that she drives a three-year-old Ford Escape Hybrid. Underwood also talks about the simple things that she likes to do on her own (even though she could undoubtedly afford to have someone else handle for her). "I love to be at the grocery store. It makes me happy to have a full fridge and a full pantry. I hate sending my laundry out. I don't like the thought of other people washing my clothes," she said.
