Tim McGraw Will Give 25 Free Homes to Veterans

Singer's Sister, Uncle and Grandfather Served in Military

Tim McGraw, the banking organization Chase and the nonprofit organization Operation Homefront will present 25 mortgage-free homes to veterans during the course of the Brothers of the Sun tour this summer. McGraw will award the homes to wounded warriors and service members in need.

McGraw will perform a kick-off show at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on Monday (May 28) during a Memorial Day event coinciding with the annual Fleet Week. The concert is being presented in partnership with Chase and the United Service Organizations (USO).

“My sister’s a veteran of the first Gulf War. My uncle was a Vietnam veteran and my grandfather was a World War II veteran. I’ve always felt a deep sense of respect and obligation to our troops,” said McGraw. “Being able to reward them for their dedicated work with a new home will be even more rewarding for us. It feels so good to give back to them, and to have the opportunity to entertain them on Memorial Day is something I’m honored to do.”

ACM Lifting Lives and the Premier Group on behalf of the North Carolina Furniture Manufacturers have also provided significant contributions to the initiative.

Kenny Chesney and McGraw will launch the Brothers of the Sun tour in Tampa, Fla., on June 2.
