George Jones has been released from a Nashville-area hospital following a short stay to treat a lingering respiratory infection, a spokesman for the Country Music Hall of Fame member announced Saturday (May 26). The singer was first hospitalized for the infection on March 29 and returned home five days later. However, he returned to the hospital on Monday (May 21). He canceled or rescheduled several concert dates for late May and June. Jones, who is resting at home, credited his wife Nancy for overseeing his medical needs. "I can't thank my friends and fans enough for all their support," he said in a written statement. "Nancy has got me a new team of doctors to help me get through this, and it seems to be working. I look forward to seeing everyone soon."
