Randy Travis Files Response, Counterclaim in Former Manager’s Lawsuit

Randy Travis has filed a response and counterclaim to a lawsuit filed in April by ex-wife Elizabeth Travis, who accuses him of breaching a contract by firing her as his personal manager. The couple divorced in 2010 after 19 years of marriage, but he signed a new management agreement with Elizabeth Travis Management Inc. in March 2011. He says his attorneys notified her in August 2011 that the agreement was terminated. In his counterclaim filed Thursday (May 24) in federal court in Nashville, the singer claims confidential information was provided to third parties in an effort to damage his personal reputation and entertainment career. He also alleges the management company submitted inflated requests for reimbursement for first-class travel and other expenses. She served as his manager for more than 30 years.
