OFFSTAGE: Radio Spins + Miranda Lambert Tweets = New Artist Love

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Everyone always talks about discovering music in cool new hip and high-tech ways. But you know what? Sometimes a good ol' spin on country radio can do things nothing else can. Like, get you noticed by Miranda Lambert and have her tweeting about you. Then tweeting some more. This is what happened Tuesday (May 29) after Lambert heard Rachel Holder's debut song "In Your Arms" on her local radio station in Tishomingo, Okla. "I heard this song by @RachelHolder called "In Your Arms" on KKAJ. Gave me chills. What a great singer. 3 modulations. :)," Lambert tweeted about the 19-year-old newcomer from East Tennessee. The song is good, but Holder's Shania Twain-like voice is what really puts it over the top. After that first tweet, the two blondes went back and forth. "Thank you so much! Your tweet seriously just made my day, even Brought tears to my eyes! :) I will be going to the CMA next week lets meet :)!," Holder tweeted back to Lambert. After that, it sounds like Lambert and Holder made plans to meet next week in Nashville.
