Elvis Presley's Former Crypt Being Auctioned

A crypt that briefly housed Elvis Presley's body following his death in 1977 is one of the items up for bid during a June 23 auction hosted by Julien's Auctions of Beverly Hills, Calif. The annual Music Icons auction also includes the late John Lennon's spare suit from the Beatles' film A Hard Day's Night and the robe the late Amy Winehouse wore in her "Rehab" music video. Other Presley items include a gold and diamond medallion given to the singer in Las Vegas. The crypt is located at Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. Presley's body was housed in the mausoleum for two months while the family waited for permits to be approved to move his body -- and the body of his mother, Gladys -- to the gardens at his longtime home, Graceland. Bidding on the crypt starts at $100,000.
