Aaron Lewis, Kix Brooks, Sunny Sweeney Greet the Crowd at Fan Social

Sixth Annual CMA Music Festival Event Was Presented by CMT

Aaron Lewis, Kix Brooks, Sunny Sweeney, Casey James and Love and Theft provided acoustic performances Saturday (June 9) at the sixth annual CMA Music Festival Fan Social Presented by CMT .

Hosted by CMT Radio’s Cody Alan and Samantha Stephens, the free event took place prior to the CMA Music Festival’s nightly concert series at Nashville’s LP Field. Fans flocked to Limelight, a venue near the stadium, after learning of the secret location through a series of clues distributed via social media.

Brooks, who’s launching a solo career after a lengthy tenure as a member of Brooks & Dunn, opened the show. Captivating the crowd with jokes and stories from the road, he nonetheless made time for a few songs in between.

Sporting a red sequined headband, Sweeney was all glitz and glam as she sang two of her favorite songs — both about cheating and ex-boyfriends. American Idol finalist James and the duo of Love and Theft brought energy and charm to their performances.

Lewis, who gained national success as lead vocalist of Staind, closed the show with old and new songs, including his country hit, “Country Boy.”
