OFFSTAGE: The Band Perry: Artistic Inside and Out

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

It’s pretty obvious by now that The Band Perry are on track for a remarkable career. Their 2010 debut album was full of so many well-crafted songs that it went platinum, and now they’re working hard on their next record. Aside from the actual music, Neil Perry, 21, and the youngest Perry, is in the process of starting to design the album cover. “I love taking photos, and actually for the second album, I’ll be heavily involved in the artwork for the album,” he told CMT Radio. “Kimberly and Reid can attest to it. I take pictures all the time. I think I annoy them sometimes. Hopefully they won’t get some contract I’ll have to sign every time I use pictures of theirs.” (Take one look at the images he posts on Twitter and you’ll see what an eye he has for photography.) Big sister Kimberly joked that she has had to put approval processes into full effect. The band’s first album cover was just a simple photo of the three siblings, with Kimberley in front, hands on hips. I can’t wait to see what Neil comes up with for the next one, due out sometime in the fall.
