This Sunday (July 29), Justin Moore will be doing two of the things he loves most. Singing and watching NASCAR. Right at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. (The race is actually called, if you can wrap your head around this, the Crown Royal Presents the Curtiss Shaver 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Big MachineRecords.com).

Moore hinted at what a huge NASCAR fan he is when Carl Edwards starred in his "Bait a Hook" video (even though Edwards was the one who, ironically, "ain't ever drove a truck.") What Moore says he loves about racing, and has for 15 years, is watching the flurry of activity when the drivers pull into pit lane.

"There's so much going on besides just guys in cars driving around the track. And I have so much respect for the pit crews -- and the drivers -- and what they can do in a matter of 15 seconds to a car. In my opinion, those guys are freak athletes," he told me. "The knowledge they all have of those cars and the tracks is amazing."

Edwards will be there racing and Moore will be watching it all from Edwards' pit box. "That opportunity to sit in his pit box still blows my mind. There's something so cool about being on the sidelines and behind the scenes," Moore said. "But with any sport, I like watching the race, but I love watching from home. I like the fact that I can rewind and see instant replays, and you do get a better view."

Moore will perform before the race with The Band Perry, the Mavericks, Greg Bates and Sunny Sweeney. Asked why he thinks country fans love NASCAR, Moore said it's because it's a blue-collar sport and blue-collar genre. "The fans are the same people," he said. "The ones who are going to NASCAR races, when they get in their trucks to go home, they have country radio on."
