OFFSTAGE: Scotty McCreery Spells Trouble F-A-L-L

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Reasons No. 62 and 63 to love Scotty McCreery: He can laugh at himself, and he blames Brad Paisley when bad things happen. After McCreery fell off the stage at a show in Bethel, N.Y., this past weekend, he let a few fans help him back up on to the stage where he was barely able to contain his laughter while he kept on singing his cover of Travis Tritt's "T-R-O-U-B-L-E." Then after the show, he took to Twitter to make the whole thing seem like his headliner's fault. "Dagum @BradPaisley pranked me again, he narrowed up the stage on me for my last song," he wrote, hashtagging that with #MeetTheCrowdNight and #ImOk. Paisley got him back for that, though, by putting orange cones and caution tape around the end of the stage's catwalk. I wonder if McCreery has any plans for retaliation. He's touring with Paisley until mid-October, so he has more than enough time to come up with a really solid practical joke or two.
