Ricky Skaggs and John Hiatt will each release new albums on Sept. 25. Skaggs is co-producing Music to My Ears with songwriter Gordon Kennedy, whose compositions include Eric Clapton’s “Change the World.” The album features Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees on “Soldier’s Son,” a song he wrote with Skaggs. Hiatt’s Mystic Pinball was produced by Kevin “Caveman” Shirley, whose production credits include projects with Aerosmith, Iron Maiden and Joe Bonamassa. The album will be available on CD and in a limited edition 180-gram vinyl version. Hiatt is touring extensively through October, including a series of shows with Steve Earle.
