OFFSTAGE: Vote for Your Favorite Song of Summer

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Little Big Town’s “Pontoon” is in the lead so far, but Luke Bryan’s “Drunk on You” is gaining on it. Maybe if we mashed those songs up — “Makin’ waves and catchin’ rays up on the roof/Pour a little Crown in a Dixie cup and party in slow motion/The best buzz I’m ever gonna find on a pontoon” — we would have ourselves a clear winner. But there’s still time to get your vote in on this CMT Insider poll of your favorite song of this summer. And it’s a tough call. Eric Church’s “Springsteen,” Kip Moore’s “Somethin’ ’Bout a Truck,” Dierks Bentley’s “5-1-5-0” and the Zac Brown Band’s “The Wind” were all vying for my attention when I voted. And you may also be inclined to cast your vote for Miranda Lambert’s “Fastest Girl in Town,” Kenny Chesney’s “Come Over,” Tim McGraw’s “Truck Yeah” or Jason Aldean’s “Take a Little Ride.” After you vote on Facebook, tune in to CMT Insider to see if your summer song won.
