OFFSTAGE: LeAnn Rimes: 30 Days to Be the Best 30-Year-Old

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

LeAnn Rimes checked herself into a 30-day, in-patient treatment facility on Wednesday (Aug. 29) to cope with anxiety and stress, according to People magazine. “This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be,” the singer said. “All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I’m hoping they’re not going to affect me as much. I’ll have the tools to know how to deal with them.” Rimes’ husband Eddie Cibrian said, “My wife is the most remarkable and courageous woman I know. I am so proud of her for having the strength to finally take some time for herself. I will be with her every step of the way.” And because Rimes seems to have a show-must-go-on attitude, she will continue to tour throughout the weekends in September. When I spoke with Rimes last week, she told me how she was getting on with a whole new chapter of her life , and that she was “leaving a lot stuff behind and moving on.” So that must mean that this treatment is helping her with her ability to actually do that moving on.
