Taylor Swift's New Video Shot in One Take

"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" Video Debuts

Taylor Swift shot her eye-popping new video, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," with five different costumes -- but without edits. She and her band rehearsed the video four times on a Los Angeles soundstage before they attempted to shoot it without stopping. And by the 18th time through, they finally captured it.

"This was a one-camera, one-shot, no-editing-involved video," Swift told CMT.com. "So literally the minute we wrapped the final take, we watched it back -- and we knew what the video looked like! It was surreal."

The sassy new song is the lead release from her new album, Red, due Oct. 22. She says the track doesn't give away all the musical surprises of the upcoming album.

"I think this song stands alone. That's what I love about this record -- every single song on it stands alone," Swift said. "Picking the single was so interesting because whichever song we picked would have completely conveyed a different message for the album. This one is such a bold statement, and it's a bold-sounding song. I think that's why I ended up picking it. It's a very bold record, in a lot of ways -- but not the same way that 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' is. Every song has its own boldness."
