Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist-keyboardist John Paul Jones are among the recipients of this year's Kennedy Center Honors. The British rock band will be honored alongside blues singer-guitarist Buddy Guy, Dustin Hoffman, David Letterman and Russian-born ballerina Natalia Makarova. In addition to his work in Led Zeppelin, Plant has enjoyed a successful solo career and returned to roots music in 2007 by teaming with Alison Krauss for their Raising Sand album. In 2010, he released Band of Joy, a project that featured several Nashville-based musicians, including Buddy Miller and Patty Griffin. Jones has also delved into roots music, including a 2004 tour with Nickel Creek and former Toad the Wet Sprocket vocalist Glen Phillips. The 35th annual Kennedy Center Honors medals will be presented on Dec. 1 in Washington, D.C. A performance at the Kennedy Center will be taped to air Dec. 26 on CBS.
