OFFSTAGE: Inside Lee Ann Womack’s Airstream

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Sometimes I wish I lived in Lee Ann Womack‘s Airstream trailer. Miranda Lambert‘s “Airstream Song” is constantly on my mind now that I’ve seen the inside of Womack’s 1973 Land Yacht Airstream. It’s in the latest issue of People Country. And even though it’s just a little 31-foot trailer, prepare yourself to be consumed with jealousy when you see it. Bamboo flooring, a gorgeous chandelier, a queen-size bed, Trina Turk curtains and pillows, two flat screen TVs and a convection oven. “We grill, we roast marshmallows, we play cards, we sit and talk,” Womack said. “It gives us a chance to be together in a different way.” She loves hitting the road with girlfriends or her two daughters. And because this late-night eBay purchase of hers is so teeny tiny, she says, “It’s like the song says: ‘Love grows best in small places.’”

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
