Chocolate Cherry Bars

2 sticks butter
¾ cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1½ cups plus 1/3 cup plain flour
1/3 cup chopped almonds
1 can sweetened condensed milk
½ teaspoon almond extract
1 cup Hershey’s mini kisses
1 cup maraschino cherries

Preheat oven to 350°.

Grease 9×13-inch Pyrex dish. Melt butter in saucepan over low heat, stir in cocoa until smooth. Remove from heat. Add sugar, 3 eggs, 1½ cups flour and chopped almonds. Mix well. Pour into greased pan. Bake 20 minutes.

Whisk remaining egg, flour, sweetened condensed milk and almond extract. Pour over baked layer. Sprinkle kisses and cherries over top. Return to oven. Bake 20 minutes until set and edges are golden brown. Cool in pan. Refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight. Cut into bars. Cover and refrigerate leftovers.
