When I caught up with Jason Aldean a couple of months ago, we had a conversation about who he’d have dinner with if he could have it with anyone. Most people, when I ask, have some kind of legendary name in mind. Like Elvis. Or Steve Jobs. Or Jesus. But Aldean just wanted his family. “I’m named after my grandfather,” he told me. “He died when I was about 12. And if I could have dinner with anyone, it would be him. Because the older I get, the more I’d like to ask him about. He was a fleet champion boxer in the Navy, so obviously, a very interesting guy.” But there’s one other person Aldean wants to have dinner with. His late grandmother. “My grandma passed away when I was 2, so I’d like to see her. I’d like both of them there, actually. It would kind of be like a whole grandparents’ dinner party,” Aldean said. A nice thought as we kick off Thanksgiving week. Who would you invite to your house for dinner this Thursday?
