OFFSTAGE: Bruce Springsteen, Tom Hanks Catch Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in Vegas

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Picture yourself at opening night of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Las Vegas show. Now picture Bruce Springsteen sitting down in the seat next to you. It would be like the thrill of a lifetime -- times a thousand. And it happened Saturday (Dec. 8) when McGraw and Hill's Soul2Soul show opened at the Venetian. Springsteen was there with his wife Patti Scialfa, along with Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson. For the lucky McGraw fans seated around all that star power, I can't even imagine what that must've been like. There's usually a really strong sense of camaraderie at most country shows, so I'd like to think this was just more of the same -- just fans swapping stories of past concerts, arguing over which McGraw tunes were the best and offering to take photos of each other. The only awkward moment I can think of would be when McGraw asks -- as he usually does -- the crowd to sing along. I mean, do you sing along with Springsteen? Or let him belt out "The Cowboy in Me," backing McGraw on his own?
