Just because I’m a hopeless romantic doesn’t mean that romance is going to bloom for everyone. Although, the way Hunter Hayes writes love songs, you’d think he’d be madly and deeply in love by now. But he told me last month he is definitely single because he’s cautious.
“I am so devoted to the thing that I’m passionate about and I spend so much time with it — the music — that I just want to make sure that when I am in a relationship, I’m not distracted,” he said. “I would hate to get into a relationship and constantly be the guy who’s not giving and is just there. I don’t want to get into a relationship and not give it everything I’ve got. That is the part that stresses me out about it.”
The fact that he’s even thinking like that shows how passionate he’ll be when the right one comes along. Passionate and selfless. He also said that he doesn’t want it to ever be all about him.
“I also want to make sure I can support them and they can support me, and whatever crazy thing we’ve got going on,” he said. “Because whatever they’re into, I want to make sure I’m their biggest fan.”
