OFFSTAGE: Carrie Underwood Sells Her Post-Idol House

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

They say location is everything when it comes to real estate. But I have to think that for whoever recently bought one particular house in Franklin, Tenn., Carrie Underwood is everything.

She purchased this custom 2,956 square-foot house after winning American Idol in 2005 for $384,000 and then sold it recently for a little bit of a loss at $372,500, according to this slideshow on ABC News . (You can click through to the second photo.) So whoever bought this gorgeous home will get to live where Underwood lived, eat where she ate, sleep where she slept and so on.

Plus, this ideally-located stucco and stone home is only about three miles from downtown Franklin, where you can hang out at the famous Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant and listen to live music and eat a smoked bologna sandwich on white bread. That, plus knowing Underwood lived there, must’ve made this place a great deal for some lucky buyer.

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
