OFFSTAGE: Miranda Lambert Says Project Runway Was Inspiring

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

We all know where country stars get their inspiration. Usually, it’s from the country stars who came before them. But now that Miranda Lambert owns and operates a retail store — her very own Pink Pistol in Oklahoma — it’s nice to hear she’s getting inspired a little outside the box. Lambert was recently a guest celebrity judge on Project Runway and says it was so exciting to see what the designers were working on. “Seeing what these young designers came up with and the creativity in their work was really inspirational,” Lambert said. “And now that I’ve opened my store the Pink Pistol … in my hometown of Tishomingo, I have even more interest in learning what’s happening in fashion.” What’s happening on the runways in New York City may not be exactly that same as what’s happening on the streets of Tishomingo, but you just never know where style comes from. And even though Lambert admits she was inspired by the designers, maybe this year’s designers will be inspired by Lambert, her music and her Texas sass. The new season premieres Jan. 24.
